We continue our series of portraits of Finance Montréal team members with Gabriel Paradis, our Senior Director of Operations and Data Protection Officer.
What attracted you to Finance Montréal?
What attracted me to Finance Montréal was, above all, the opportunity to contribute to a committed organization making a concrete impact in its field. Having previously worked in international development, my arrival on the team was a bit fortuitous, but I quickly felt a connection with the organization's mission and values. Finance Montréal stands out for its dynamism and collaborative approach, which immediately motivated me to get fully involved. For me, it's an environment where I can continue to learn, grow and make a real contribution.
What is your greatest professional dream?
My greatest professional dream is to actively contribute to the growth, advancement and influence of Quebec in a responsible and sustainable manner. I aspire to have a role where I can really “move the needle” in the right direction, by influencing initiatives that bring about positive change. For me, it's all about combining impact and responsibility, by putting forward projects that reflect strong values and a long-term vision. Having this opportunity to make a tangible difference in my community and beyond is what motivates me deeply.
Tell us about an initiative you've enjoyed working on and are proud of.
One initiative I'm particularly proud of is my involvement in the growth and development of Finance Montréal.
I have had the opportunity to contribute to equipping the organization with the tools essential to its success, by supporting processes that strengthen its internal structure and its ability to achieve its objectives. My role has also been to ensure that Finance Montréal is seen as a model of internal governance, promoting sound and responsible practices. Seeing the organization evolve and shine thanks to these efforts is a great source of satisfaction for me.
Tell us about one of your passions.
One of my great passions is making the most of my free time with the wonderful people around me. These quality moments with my loved ones are essential to me and help me recharge my batteries. I'm also a great lover of nature, where I try to spend as much time as possible, whether for relaxation or inspiration. Finally, I have a real passion for woodworking and furniture-making. My workshop is my creative refuge, where I can combine manual work and imagination, which gives me immense pleasure.
What drives you on a daily basis?
What drives me every day is the possibility of making a positive impact and embodying my values in everything I do. I aspire to be a positive role model, both in my community and in society at large, by living consistently with my principles. Every day is an opportunity for me to contribute, in my own way, to the improvement of this beautiful society that is Quebec. Whether through small actions or more ambitious projects with Finance Montréal, I find great satisfaction in knowing that I can help build a more inspiring and responsible future.
