We continue our series of portraits of the Finance Montréal team with our most recent recruit, Michael Proscino, Operations Coordinator for Station Fintech Montréal.
What attracted you to Finance Montréal?
Its important role in the development of the fintech ecosystem in Quebec! I love the idea of working with a vibrant community of innovators and connecting finance and technology. I've also been seduced by the collaborative atmosphere of the Station Fintech Montréal and the chance to contribute to projects that help both start-ups and established companies. It’s a place where you feel like you’re learning something new every day.
What do you do when you face a challenge at work?
When I face a challenge at work, I see it as a chance to learn and find a solution. I start by analyzing the situation and breaking it down into simpler steps. If necessary, I do some research or ask my colleagues for advice to get another point of view. Above all, I keep an open mind, focus on solutions that help me move forward, and try to learn from experience so that I can deal with similar situations effectively in the future.
What is your greatest professional dream?
My biggest professional dream is to build something meaningful, whether it’s a team, a creative project or a process that makes people’s lives easier. I want to be able to look back and know that I left things better than I found them, while growing and learning along the way.
Tell us about one of your passions.
One of my greatest passions is helping women feel good about themselves through makeup. There is something really rewarding about using makeup to reveal someone’s confidence and enhance their natural beauty. Whether it’s preparing a bride or achieving a more daring look for an evening, I pride myself on making each experience unique, adapting it to each person's personality and style. Being a makeup artist isn't just about creating art, it's also about offering my clients a transformation, both physical and emotional, that helps them feel more confident.
What is your favorite restaurant or cultural place of the moment?
Right now, Le Cadet is my favorite restaurant in Montréal! It's the perfect place for those who like to share delicious, creative dishes in a warm, lively atmosphere. The menu features small plates, so you can try lots of different items. It's truly a place that reflects the dynamic atmosphere of Montreal's culinary scene, and has become my favorite spot for nights out on the town and special occasions.
