We are kicking off our series of profiles of the Finance Montréal team members by introducing you to Louis-Philippe Allard, our Senior Director of Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, Fintech. As we approach the Canada Fintech Forum, a major event he has been leading for several years, we asked Louis-Philippe a few questions to help you get to know him better.
What attracted you to Finance Montréal?
My immense interest for finance and the business world, as well as the strength of Finance Montréal's network.
What do you like most about Finance Montréal?
The exceptional member network and the talented team I have the pleasure of working with.
What do you do when you encounter a challenge at work?
I thoroughly analyze the situation, list the potential solutions available to me, and choose the best option. Of course, I never hesitate to consult with my colleagues and professional contacts during this process.
Tell us about an initiative you enjoyed working on and that you are proud of.
Having the opportunity to relaunch the Canada Fintech Forum in a brand-new format after the pandemic.
What are your passions?
Reading, volunteering, traveling, spending time with my family, networking, and making meaningful professional connections.
What would you say to a young person to encourage them to take an interest in finance?
Finance offers a multitude of different career paths, and finance professionals play a crucial role in economic development, helping businesses grow, and supporting individuals in achieving their financial goals.
Working in finance allows you to develop skills in analysis, problem-solving, risk management, and communication, which are valuable in many other fields. Lastly, finance careers are often well-compensated, offering financial stability and significant opportunities for career advancement.
